Protein Shakes - What's The Story Part III

Now that we have our Protein Powder (See our Previous Post), it's time to make some delicious tasking shakes. 

Despite the good protein shakes do for our bodies, they can sometimes be a little hard to swallow-literally. But with these recipes you will be enjoying each sip!  For each recipe, put all the ingredients into a blender and blend until your shake reaches the desired consistency. 

Today we explore Breakfast Shakes - because Mom always said that "breakfast is the most important meal of the day"! These yummy, breakfast-inspired protein shakes are perfect when you need a sweet treat. The oatmeal found in many of them provides healthy, complex carbs and great texture.

Vanilla Coffee Shake 


 2 scoops vanilla powder

 1 ½ cups low-fat milk

 ½ cup low-fat coffee flavored ice cream

Soy Almond Shake 


1 scoop protein powder

1 cup light soy milk 

1 tbsp slivered almonds 

1 tsp sugar-free maple syrup 

1 handful ice 

3 drops vanilla extract 

1 tbsp low-fat Greek yogurt (optional)

Citrus Shake 


1 scoop protein 

Juice from 3 oranges (not canned or bottled)

Sweetener to taste (optional)

Oatmeal Shake 


1 cup dry oatmeal 

2 scoops vanilla protein 

½ tsp cinnamon

1/8 cup sugar-free maple syrup

1 tbsp chopped almonds

1 ½ cup water or low-fat milk

Cinnamon Roll Shake 


2 scoops protein powder 

1 tbsp sugar-free instant vanilla pudding

1/4 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp vanilla extract

½ tsp butter-flavor extract

1 cup water

1 handful ice
